Chorale Outreach Activities
Activities include an apprenticeship program, scholarships, and educational visits to local schools (see below).

Visits to Local Schools:
The 24rd season took us to the Moriarty High School. Click here to see some pictures from the day.

The 23rd season took us to the Pojoaque High School, where we worked during the day with their choral group, and gave a joint concert in the evening. Click here to see some pictures from the day.

The 22nd season took us to Raton New Mexico on March 2-3, 2000, where the Chorale spent two days with Jean Di Lisio-Whartons' delightful Middle-School and High-School Choirs. With music from our 2nd CD sent ahead to the schools, we arrived in Raton on March 2 in time for the afternoon Mid-School choir class. Sheldon and the Chorale conducted a clinic, and then we held a joint rehearsal at Raton's historic Shuler Theater, where we later that evening performed a joint concert with both choirs. The next morning, we met with the High-School choirs and enjoyed several hours of singing CD repertoire, more choral clinics, and "jamming" on 50's Music - until the bells rang and the students had to move on to other classes. See pictures of this fun two days.

For the 21st season, we ventured on March 25, 1999 to the Espanola/Pojoaque valley area and took on the elementary school kids. Using our second CD repertoire, just recorded the weekend before, we gave the kids folk songs, spirituals, and even madrigals. See pictures of this delightful day's activities.

During the 20th Season the Chorale continued its educational outreach with a special Educational Outreach Concert involving several New Mexico high-school choirs. On April 18, 1998, we performed the Music of the Americas repertoire in Los Lunas, NM with participation by the Belén, Los Lunas, and Moriarty High-School choirs. We held a combined rehearsal with the students during the afternoon, and performed in joint concert that evening. Admission to the concert was free, and donations received were split among the high schools' choral music programs. In addition, the high schools were able to keep the music purchased by the Chorale for this joint performance. Pictures and more information on this memorable event are available elsewhere on this web site.
